Julia is trained in the Rewind Technique, an internationally recognised treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), developed by Dr Davis Muss.
The Rewind Technique can treat the survivor of a traumatic (life-threatening) event, or someone who has witnessed, heard about or perpetrated such an event.
The Technique is easily learnt by the majority of clients, and where a single trauma is the cause of the PTSD, only about 2-3 sessions are required.
For multiple event traumas, such as sexual abuse and domestic violence, each traumatic event can be dealt with separately over several sessions, or can sometimes be dealt with in one session.
One of the main benefits of the Rewind Technique is that you do not need to disclose any details about your trauma. This minimises the risk of your being retraumatised and means that sensitive information can be protected.
The Rewind will not erase your memory of the traumatic event – you will be able to remember it if you choose to – but it should stop involuntary recall in the form of flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks and other unwanted symptoms. As with any therapy, results aren’t guaranteed, but the Rewind Technique is estimated to be effective in reducing PTSD symptoms in about 80% of people. If you are struggling to get help for your trauma symptoms, whether because of waiting lists or financial constraints, the Rewind Technique is well worth trying.

The Rewind technique can be safely delivered online by Zoom, so please do consider booking an introductory session.
